Summary
Hōkūleʻa, the traditional Polynesian voyaging canoe, docked at Marina Del Rey’s Chace Park on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, as part of its four-year Moananuiākea Voyage and circumnavigation of the Pacific Ocean.
The double-hulled canoe and its crew were escorted into the Marina by the Kizh Nation, the original Indian tribe of the greater Los Angeles and Orange County regions.
The voyaging canoe will be docked at 13650 Mindanao Way in Marina Del Rey until October 30, 2023. During that time, guests will be offered dockside canoe tours where they can learn about the canoe’s history, ancient wayfinding and navigation.
